As an assassin, she had practiced martial arts from a young age and often held a whip, so indeed she had some light calluses on the palms of her hands.
Evelyn was contemplating how to explain this when she heard Jasper Bollock say:
"It's normal for people from rural areas to have calluses on their hands, and my daughter doesn't need to be raised with excessive pampering; as long as someone can take good care of her wholeheartedly, that's enough. The key is to make her stop crying."
Evelyn's heart leapt with joy—sure enough, this was the man she admired.
The other two wet nurses nodded vigorously, "Colonel Bollock, rest assured, we can definitely take good care of her."
Jasper Bollock stood up, his tall figure towering in front of the three wet nurses, "It's too early to say you can take care of her. Come with me to pick her up, and among the three of you, I will keep two."
The little one was indeed difficult to take care of; a single wet nurse simply couldn't handle her.
