He was apologizing, but his tone didn't carry much remorse.
Zelda Swallow had her back to him and didn't turn around, her thoughts unknown.
Trenton Smith looked at him for a while, thinking he was angry, and said nothing more, "I'll go call Zoe Smith to come and keep you company."
He turned to walk towards the door.
"Dad has never blamed you."
From behind, Zelda Swallow's voice gently carried over.
Trenton Smith paused, his back still turned to him, without looking back.
The old man sighed softly, "All these years, Dad has done so much, just hoping that you would succeed."
"I have let you down."
"No. You have done well," he said with a smile, "Like father, like son, you truly are my son, Zelda Swallow."
Trenton Smith paused for a moment, said nothing more, and stepped out.
