Chapter 888 - Turbulent East Blue

Kuzan would at most throw him into prison, but Yamato and the others would simply sink him to the bottom.

However, greed quickly took over Nelson's heart because he saw the Millennial Dragons. Besides Grandpa Ryu, who lay weakly on the cart, the sight of the group of Millennial Dragons soaring through the sky filled his face with greed, making the fat on his body tremble.

"Heh heh, dragon bones… so many dragon bones…"

The fat on his body didn't appear out of nowhere—it was nurtured over years of corruption under the identity of the 8th Branch's Base Commander. As he indulged in luxuries far beyond the reach of ordinary people, he also became more obsessed with extending his lifespan.

The dragon bones of the Millennial Dragon became his target. Seeing such a large number of Millennial Dragons, desire was already burning within him.

"Fire! Shoot down all those Millennial Dragons! Even if they're dead, it doesn't matter. As long as we have the dragon bones, that's enough!"

If handled properly, bones could be preserved for a very long time. For Nelson, who only needed the dragon bones, the life or death of the Millennial Dragons was irrelevant.

Before Eric was dealt with by Ferren, Nelson had already received his message. So, he arrived with the entire fleet of his branch. These warships weren't the large ones used by Marine Headquarters for Buster Calls but rather the small warships typical of Four Seas branches.

Nelson linked all the warships together with iron chains, forming a defensive line. However, due to Yamato's Glaciate, the area was completely frozen, trapping the warships in ice. They could only adjust their cannons to fire.

"Oh, aren't these Marines from before? They really did come for the Millennial Dragons."

"Isn't that obvious? But these guys… are so annoying. I can sink their ships, right?"

Kicking away an incoming cannonball, Ulti looked at the warships, clearly annoyed. She had been idle for a while and was already itching for action. To her, these Marines were nothing more than free punching bags.

"Do as you like. Since they're hunting Millennial Dragons, they're enemies."

"You should restrain your Conqueror's Haki. These guys won't be able to handle it. If you knock them all out, there'll be nothing left to have fun with."

Conqueror's Haki had always been an effective tool for clearing out small fry. Against a Conqueror's Haki user, numbers meant nothing.

Since the trials of the Dragon Dimension could enhance the power of Conqueror's Haki, and considering the average level of East Blue Marines, they had no chance of escaping total annihilation.

"You don't have to worry about that. There will be more chances for you to fight later. If that's not enough, when we get back to Onigashima, I can ask my father to fight you…"

"Shut up! Who wants to fight that idiot old man of yours?! You can go suffer through that yourself! Pay-tan, you take the left, I'll take the right. Let's see who takes down more!"

Hearing Yamato mention Kaido, even Ulti shuddered.

Even she had a deep psychological shadow from Kaido's so-called "teaching." Every high-ranking officer in the Beasts Pirates had experienced it.

Especially Queen—being a fellow victim alongside Yamato, his body bore countless scars from Kaido's Hassaikai.

The ice surface Yamato created provided the perfect battlefield. In the time it took them to speak, Ulti had already charged toward the enemy warships. At the same time, the Millennial Dragons launched an aerial assault on the Marines.

As members of the Beasts Pirates' air cavalry, they had fought Marines countless times in the Archeops form. Even though they were currently using Millennial Dragon form, they still proved to be a massive headache for the Marines.

"Ship No. 1's starboard is under attack! Ship No. 9's port is under attack! The defensive line has been breached!"

After being frozen in place, the warships lost all mobility. Against the flying Millennial Dragons, they had become little more than sitting ducks.

"Counterattack! All units, fight back! Anyone who dares to retreat will be exiled to a deserted island!"

Hearing the reports of his fleet being attacked, Nelson ordered the Marines under his command to retaliate. Despite his obese appearance, he was actually more capable than those vermin in East Blue.

8th Branch at least commanded a sizable Marine fleet, possessing formidable combat power within East Blue. Nelson's iron-chain tactics were proof of that—most pirates in East Blue were no match for the 8th Branch's fleet.

Unfortunately, the matchmaking system this time was terrible, even worse than the ELO system. He ended up running into a group of tourists from the New World who were just here to smurf.

Besides the aerial assault from the Millennial Dragons, his fleet also had to face two raiding vanguards.

From the moment the battle started, all Nelson heard was one bad news after another. Every minute, another warship was destroyed. The fleet he had always relied on for survival was now crumbling like paper.

Even with Nelson's orders, his soldiers were already showing signs of collapse.

"What's going on? What the hell is happening? How many enemies are there?!"

"C-commodore… aside from the Millennial Dragons, there are only two enemies…"

"Two?! That's impossible! Just two people took down my entire fleet?!"

In his panic, Nelson accidentally tumbled from his seat. Due to his excessive weight, he couldn't get up on his own and had to rely on his soldiers to help him back into position.

"Who are they? Have you still not gathered any intel on them?!"

"Oye, fat pig, you're the leader? Looks like I won."

The chains linking the warships shook as Ulti landed on Nelson's flagship. In her hand was a bloodstained meteor hammer, though its handle was just as hard as the head, making it look more like a hybrid between a kanabo and a meteor hammer.

"Winning doesn't really matter though. Sister, you never even said what happens if you win."

Page One followed right behind her, boarding from the other side of the ship. He looked at Ulti with complete indifference—without a bet at stake, the outcome of their competition didn't mean much.

It was only at this moment that the intelligence officer inside the warship hurriedly ran out of the cabin with the information on the two. However, upon seeing that the duo had already breached the flagship, his legs gave out, and the two bounty posters slipped from his hands.

His speed wasn't slow—ever since the Great Pirate Era began, the number of pirates across the seas had skyrocketed. Even in East Blue, there were countless pirates with bounties in the millions.

As a local branch permanently stationed in East Blue, their intel was mostly focused on these rookie pirates. They paid little attention to pirates from the New World.

They weren't as highly recognizable as someone like Kaido, and neither Ulti nor Page One had any interest in displaying the pirate flag on their bodies. This delayed the identification process. However, once they figured out who they were dealing with, they felt even more helpless.
