Chapter 1 - Prologue- New Light

5 Year old Kids POV:

White.

White.

White.

The color white. Everything around me was the color white. The doors white, the walls white, the seats white and the front office desk white. Everything in this building was the color white, nothing was any other color. It felt like a prison yet didn't at the same time. The shining light bouncing off the white walls blinding you for minutes.

I was sitting in the lobby waiting to be called upon. I don't remember how I got here, or when, but all I know is that I'm supposed to be waiting for my name to be called. 10 minutes passed before I heard the speaker make a sudden noise catching my attention.

"Red Angel, please come to the front desk." Instantly after, I saw movement in the corner of my eye.

I turned my head to where the movement was, only to see another kid look back at me with a lively smile and bright red eyes. As he arrived at the front desk, a young man with glasses and a white coat approached him leaning down, speaking to him. The young man started walking towards me, finally reaching me, leaning down to match my eye level. He smiled before standing back up again, and introducing himself as "Tohiko Miyako". A staff member at this building with the task of being a guide to new transfers. He motioned his hand, indicating to me to follow him. In response I got up from my chair and followed.

I followed him till we met up with the other kid I saw. He was in a white coat like me, but had dark brown hair, with eyes that looked tired. We both locked our eyes to each other, staring into each other's soul, evaluating each other, before finally smiling at one another.

As we were following Tohiko, we suddenly stopped at a door. A white door. I looked down from where we came from, and it had no end, extending to eternity. There was no end to it. It was just an endless white hallway. I turned to look at the other kid, only to be shown an emotion I've only ever seen once before in my memory. The emotion of fear. The only images I have of my mother, had that face. The face of fear.

The color white. Standing for purity and good, but this face, this kid was showing the opposite of good.

Bad.

Good and bad. Both cannot function alone. If there is good, there will always be bad. Everything has drawbacks. Everything… has two sides. Good and bad, Yin and Yang, Blue/Green and Red. Everything has an opposite. This connects to human nature. Every single human being on planet earth has a good side they show to the public, their family and friends. But they also have a dark side they hide from everyone. Whether it's a secret, an alternative motive, or hatred for someone.

The man opened the door and urged us to go inside, and so we did. Once we entered, the lights of the room blinded us, hitting us like a flashbang. Once my eyes got used to the light, I saw there were multiple rows of desks lined up. All of the desks were the color white. Just like the front office, the hallways and the doors. The room was only one color. White. Most of the desks were already occupied by kids, with only a few desks left unoccupied with nameplates stationed. Me and the kid exchanged glances before walking to our respective assigned desk.

At the front of the room there was a big whiteboard with the words 'Open the notebook presented on your desk' pasted big for everyone to read. Next to the whiteboard was the young man that me and the other kid followed. Next to him, there was another man, the man had no glasses and was slightly taller than the one with glasses.

This new man was the instructor of this room. He waited a couple of moments before speaking to everyone. He started by going over an overview of the rules of this room and everything we would be learning for the next…

15 years

My eyes widened at the comment of the time we were going to be here, 15 years. I turned towards my newly made friend as he was showing the same expression as me. I looked back at the instructor, who stopped to let the information sink in, before continuing. "This generation will be the best one out of every country's generation".

"Today marks the 3rd year of you guys being here." The instructor spoke. He gave some glares to some kids, including me, my friend and three other ones before continuing. "We have high hopes for some of you. Today is a special day. We will have a special visitor after we finish this quick test." grabbing a stack of papers, handing them out to everyone in the room. I scanned over the test which had 4 subjects total, 40 questions each. Moments passed by as he returned to the front of the room. A loud noise sounded, signifying the start of the testing period.

About 3 hours passed and I had finally finished my test. I rang the silent bell on my desk to notify the instructor I was done. As he picked up my test, I looked around to see who was done and saw only a couple of other kids finished, including my friend. The timer went off, meaning the test was over with. The kids who didn't finish were taken outside of the room with banging sounds coming from there. Although beatings were a natural occurrence at this building, this… this was different. It didn't sound like the usual belt hits, punches, and even tasers at times. These sounds sounded like gunshots. Hearing this everyone turned towards the door and back to the instructor, who had no sense of emotion on his face. Everyone just looked back at the instructor and didn't dare to move an inch, afraid of what would happen to them.

Everyone else that was in the room were told to line up. After everyone lined up, I stared in his direction. Meeting each other's eyes, the air clogged our throat, the light blinding our eyes once again, like God was taking your soul. "Congratulations on completing the test!" A sudden voice erupted into the room, shaking most of the kids in line. Although, the stare the both of us had stayed intact, never inching away. Finally our eyes turned to the source of the sound. The source was not coming from the instructor, but someone new entirely. He was tall, towering over the instructor, he was in a suit, had dark brown hair and was giving off the aura of assertiveness. While the instructor was just about above average height, had black hair and gave off an aura of a blank slate of emotion.

He grabbed a chair and sat down. He just sat there for minutes with his hands interlocked under his chin, with him leaning in. He then relaxed and began speaking. "Before, this building would be lenient towards those not keeping up. But this building was not intended for those 'not able' to keep up. This building is only for the best of the best, if you cannot keep up, we will throw you out. As you can most likely tell from the result of those who didn't finish the test. This building will not take any excuses." The mystery man stated. You could see some kids in the line trembling from fear of being thrown away. Especially at the thought of being thrown out of the room just to be shot at, as seen just before. Mostly everyone here was given away by their parents, or already were thrown away and happened to be stumbled upon by someone from this building. This went for me and my friend as well.

~ Day 1 ~

Black hair boys POV:

'Brring'

'Brring'

'Briin-'

I smashed the annoying noise coming from the right side of my bed. The sound came to a full stop, as I got up from my bed to start my day. I turned to where the sound was coming from, now vacant, only to see an alarm clock destroyed. I sighed internally, picking up the broken pieces, throwing them away.

Walking to my desk, I looked towards the calendar I had pinned to the left side of the desk on the wall. It was April 1st and under it was writing that said 'First day of ANHS'. Today would be the start of my high school experience, at an Elite school nevertheless.

I took a quick shower then quickly dried myself off, picking out the required school uniform assigned by the school. Male students would have a red button up blazer, with a white shirt underneath, some dull green pants, brown shoes and a dark blue tie, while the females had a red button up blazer, white shirt underneath, black ankle to knee high socks, with a blue tie and brown shoes as well. I checked myself in the mirror, loosening my tie a little since it was hurting my neck being too tight. I made some breakfast containing some eggs, pancakes, some bacon with fruit on the side and a protein drink. It might sound bad to most, since all they eat is cereal or nothing for breakfast, but it's really good and good for your health.

Finishing my breakfast I cleaned the plates, opened the door leading to the hallway, walked out, and closed the door behind me. 'Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School' I thought to myself, before closing my eyes. 'A high school established by the government, with a 100% college entry and employment rates. Honestly it all sounds too good to be true, there has to be some sort of catch to it. But I guess I'll find out when I get there' I finished my thought off.

I left my apartment heading towards the bus stop. One of the rules stated by the school was to not bring any personal belongings other than notebooks, pencils, basically the basic items for school. On the way to the stop, the cold yet warm breeze flowed through my hair, sending a chill down my spine. The scent of flowers flowing with the wind. Listening to the birds chirping. The quiet yet sound of car engines, the music from the inside of buildings playing quietly into your ears.

As I finally reached my bus stop, I sat down laying my head back, closing my eyes. Enjoying the soft chime noise, and quietness of being the only one there. There was a sudden change in the volume minutes later, not even giving me enough time for my small nap. Sighing, I opened my eyes looking around. There were people with the same uniform as me and others with suits, and nice looking clothes most likely for their jobs.

I looked towards the road, seeing an approaching vehicle only for it to be the bus. I stood up, waiting for it to approach and make a complete stop. Once it opened its doors, I stepped inside and went for a seat.

"Hey, mind if I sit here?" I asked a girl, who had black hair, the same uniform as me and gave off a cold yet superiority complex aura. "It's fine." She immediately replied without taking a single glance at me with a cold tone. I sat down, looking at the girl's hair before laying my head back and closing my eyes.
