Jiang Yue had expected that.
The doctors had warned her that depending on the sedative used, Jiang Xiu might have memory gaps. She didn't press further.
"It's fine," she said. "Just focus on waking up for now."
Jiang Xiu closed her eyes briefly, as though gathering her strength. When she opened them again, there was more awareness there, though her exhaustion was obvious.
"Sister…" she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "What happened?"
Before Jiang Yue could answer, the door opened, and a doctor walked in, followed closely by Guan Ying.
Jiang Yue stepped back slightly to give them space, watching as the doctor immediately began checking Jiang Xiu's vitals.
Yan Meixiu moved to stand beside her, hands clenched at her sides. She looked relieved, but there was still a tightness in her expression.
