Sword clashed against sword as Rune met Gallow's attack head-on. Using Mind Activation had allowed him to easily perceive the attack, but that was a problem in and of itself. Rune could tell that Gallow was moving much slower than when he fought against Zictor.
"That was a dirty trick you used there," Rune said. Charged tendrils of electricity passed through Gallow's swords and into his own. The pain of his flesh being seared just by holding Gallow back made it difficult for Rune to even hold onto his sword.
"Don't act like such an amateur, Rune. What kind of opponent just stands around chatting?" Gallow replied. He had dropped the endearing nickname and was now calling Rune by name, the sharp glint in his eye showing that Gallow was taking this match very seriously. " I genuinely did want to talk a bit before we jumped into things. But I never once stopped thinking about the setting we were in. You should have done the same and raised your guard the second the match started..."
