Indy
"I'm booooooored!" Bo groaned while kicking his feet in the air like a child. Well to be fair he was a child, older than myself but much more immature.
I was standing inside one of the cargo bays of the King's glaive with Bo, Gargesh, KC, and Jade. All of us watching the new prisoners that Iris, Reagan, and Anders captured for use for their appearance changing magic. The three of them were tied to chairs that were placed in a circle with each of them facing one another and blindfolded.
"Stop fussing Bo, it's not like complaining will change our job." Jade said patting her son's head. Bo huffed and puffed his cheeks out, crossing his arms and kicking the air in a tantrum.
"But it's so freaking boring! We're just watching them, Chase and the others have super cool jobs and we're basically babysitting." Bo whined then pointed to the three captives. "Plus it's freaky since they look like Iris, Anders and Reagan!"
A slight and sudden moment from one of the captives caught my attention. The captives that had Iris appearance currently was trying to undo the knots of his restraints. I sighed and jumped down from the barrel I was sitting on; not making a sound as I did it; and walked over to the soldier. I tightened his ropes with a sharp tug, making him gasp and winced.
"Ow! My fucking wrists!" The soldier exclaimed using Iris' voice.
"Stop trying to undo your restraints or I will have Gargesh chew your hands off!" I warned with a stern and practiced voice. Despite how practiced it was I was still seven and had the voice of a seven year old.
"The fuck! You better let us go you little brat before my people come here and slaughter all of you!" The soldier yelled.
"I doubt that." I said calmly then tugged the ropes tighter.
"Indy what are you doing?!" Bo snapped, jumping down from his crate and stomping over to me.
"He was trying to wiggle his arms free. I stopped him." I replied simply.
"Indy, next time just tell me." Jade said walking over and ushering Bo and I away from the captives. "Your dad would kill me if something happened to you."
'As if these amateurs could lay a finger on me. They're normies, even if they currently have other people appearances. I could kill them in ten seconds…' I thought as I took my original position on top of a barrel.
"Mom can I at least go get something to eat. If I'm going to be bored I should at least have a snack." Bo whined.
"You just had breakfast, Bo." Jade said.
"I'm a growing boy!" Bo exclaimed and crossed his arms.
"As well as a loud one." I muttered. Bo heard me and shot me daggers.
"Shut up pipsqueak!" Bo snapped.
"I'm shorter because I'm younger. What's your excuse for being short for a ten year old?" I asked mockingly.
"I'm ten and a half!" Bo snapped.
"Still short for your age!" I snapped back.
"Sorty! Sorty! Sorty!" KC chanted happily while clapping his hands.
"I'M NOT SHORT!" Bo bellowed.
"Suuuuuuuuure you're not…." I replied while measuring my own height with my hand and then looking over at him in a teasing manner.
One of the soldiers suddenly jumped up from his chair; the one that Anders had impersonated; grabbing the back of it and throwing it at Jade and Bo. Or rather their general direction. Gargesh suddenly jumped in front of Jade and blocked the chair with his body. The soldier yanked the blindfold off his eyes then immediately locked eyes with me.
The soldier rushed forward to grab me but I quickly dodged his hand. I darted between his legs and then reared back and kicked the back of his leg. Regardless of how big a guy is or how strong he is they all will fall once you kick them in the back of the leg, it was one of the first lessons I was taught by my grandfather about fighting larger opponents.
Once he kneeled I jumped on his back, using it as a springboard to jump over his head. Twisting in mid-air I brought my leg up just as the soldiers looked and saw me falling towards him. I kicked him on the top of the head with a falling axe kick that sent his head crashing into the ground and knocking him out.
"HOLY SHIT!" Bo yelled. I stood over the unconscious man and debated if it was worth the effort to tie him back to again.
"What's going on?!" One of the other captives cried out.
"Your friend just got knocked the fuck out! That's what!" Bo cackled excitedly. Jade slapped the back of Bo's head and shot him a serious look.
"Stop cursing! Gargesh get some rope to tie this man up again. Bind his legs and hands behind his back." Jade snapped then ordered Gargesh.
Gargesh quickly got to work while I eyed the other captives to make sure their bindings didn't get loose. They were still tied up but now trying to work their bindings off to help their comrade.
"Unless you want us to forget about tying you up and just break your legs so you can't escape I suggest you stop moving." I said, letting my voice drop several degrees and all the venom and malice I could muster pour out with each word.
The captives all stopped. Due to them looking like Iris and Reagan I felt a little guilty about threatening them, but only for a brief second. I was about to say something else when the captives bodies suddenly started to bloat, glow, and change. Their appearances returning to what they were before our people stole their appearances.
"What the…?" Bo exclaimed. Before I could say anything I heard Iris voice boom in my head.
"Ow! My head!" Bo groaned and grabbed his temples. I rushed over and grabbed KC then Bo's hand.
"Bo we need to get KC to his Dad!" I exclaimed and started pulling Bo towards the King's Glaive door. I caught Jade's eyes before I turned around, she had a appreciative expression.
Bo, of course tried to pull away from me but even with him being taller than me I was still stronger. Though this was only in thanks to my training under my grandfather and trainers. Once I managed to get Bo and KC out of the car and into the next I knew that his mother would order Gargesh to kill the captives. Gargesh would listen to the order if it came from her or Bo's father since Gargesh saw them as Bo's superiors.
"Indy? Why did you...?" Bo stopped mid-sentence and looked at the wall to our right absentmindedly. Almost like he was in a daze. "…nevermind. Gadget noticed a bunch of soldiers coming this way."
"That might be why Iris was so panic sounding when she called." I said. Bo smirked then started running down towards the next car.
'I have a bad feeling about this…' I thought. I quickly raced after him, running through every car until we reached the control car. Only stopping for a brief moment to stop and drop KC off at his parent's car. Bo stood in front of the door leading outside about to press the button to open it when I stopped him.
"What are you doing?" I demanded, grabbing his wrist.
"I'm going outside. If more soldiers are coming then someone needs to deal with them." Bo said. I narrowed my eyes at him and sighed.
"And you think you're the one that should deal with them?" I asked, letting the doubt and annoyance I was feeling seep into my voice.
"Of course!" Bo exclaimed puffing his chest out and beating it with a fist.
"No that's a stupid idea." I rebutted. Bo frowned then slapped me in the back of the head.
"No it isn't!" Bo snapped. I growled and sucker punched him in the gut. Bo coughed and stumbled backwards holding his stomach.
'Oops…did I forget to reel in my punch?' I thought. I was about to apologize when several faint gunshots rang outside. Both Bo and I froze and looked towards the door.
"Gunshots?" Bo muttered.
"Iris and the others are already dealing with the problem." I told Bo. He frowned and looked at me suspiciously.
"How would you know?" Bo asked.
"You think you and KC are the only kids with evos?" I rebutted. Bo's eyes widened as he gasped and grabbed my shoulders.
"You have a evo! Why didn't you tell me?!" Bo exclaimed.
"You never asked." I replied simply and with a shrug. Bo frowned then shook his head.
"Well now you gotta show me! You've seen all my evos!" Bo exclaimed.
"Well he's outside with the gunshots and the bullets and…we're in here…." I said. Bo smirked in a way similar to Chase when he has one of his bad ideas and I felt the overwhelming urge to be anywhere other than within arms reach of him.
"Well we can change that easily." Bo said, grabbing my wrist with surprising speed and pressed the button to open the door.
"Bo! The fighting!" I exclaimed, too late though.
The first thing we saw as the door slid open was a American soldier backing up towards the King's Glaive while firing a gun at the tree line in front of him. He didn't notice either of us or that the door was open…until Bo opened his mouth.
"OH FUCK!" Bo cried out. The soldier jumped and looked over his shoulder. Seeing Bo and I he quickly turned reached for us, I yanked Bo backwards to pull him out of the soldier's reach and ended up getting grabbed myself.
The soldier yanked me off the train and quickly spun around to face the forest, placing a pistol to my temple. I froze and gritted my teeth, mentally hitting myself for allowing myself to be taken hostage and for not stopping Bo from opening the door.
"Stop unless you want the brat's brains to paint the ground!" The soldier yelled.
"INDY!" Bo screamed from the train. I remained calm and took stock of my surroundings.
The soldier wasn't alone, there was another soldier hiding behind a tree and taking pot shots at someone in the forest. Most likely one of Iris evos or Iris herself. The soldier that had me was shaking, terrified and desperate. His hold on me suggested some training and his strength was slightly above the average man but this attempt to barter for his life while completely disregarding a splicer at his back; regardless of Bo being a child; meant he was amateur at fighting splicers.
With all these facts in mind I took a breath then shot the soldier a cold look out of the side of my eye. I lowered my voice and threw as much venom and malice I could as I spoke.
"If you do not let me go now I promise you your death will slowly, painful, and more horrific than anything you could possibly imagine." I growled.
The soldier looked stunned for a brief moment by my words then hid lips curled into a snarl before he raised his gun to pistol whip me.
"Shut the fuck up brat!" He snapped.
Before he could bring his arm down to hit me Gadget jumped on his back from the open door on the King's Glaive and immediately went for the hand holding me. The evo bit and scratched it up, making the man scream and curse. Letting me go and attempting to shake Gadget off his arm. I hit the ground and rolled away, settling into a crouched position I leveled the man with a glare.
"BIZARRO!" I roared.
The soldier managed to grab and pull Gadget off his hand, tossing him away. Blood streaming from the hand that Gadget savaged. Even at a glance I could tell that it was completely useless now, even with the best medical attention available to normies he'd never be able to use that hand again.
"I'M GOING TO KILL YOU FUCKING FREAKS!" The soldiers screamed.
"Think again…"
Before the soldier could react to the sudden and new voice, two coiling rock-like tentacles wrapped around the soldier's body and yanked him into the air. He was slammed into the ground and then the side of King's Glaive before he was thrown into the other soldier hiding behind the tree with great force.
Bizzaro deactivated his adaptive camouflage, his skin changing from having the appearance of dirt, twigs, moss, and rocks to black fur. Bizarro was a evo created by Chase Kingston, a Strange Meow. The combination of panther, cuttlefish, and squid. He had the general appearance of a panther with a few small differences. His ears were long and the tips of which stretched into long tentacles coming down to his paws. Instead of a single feline tail he had ten tentacles that acted as tails.
Bizarro rushed over to me and rubbed his head against my cheek, subtly sniffing me while he did so to check and make sure I was okay. I patted the evo on the head and giggled when his breath tickled my neck.
"Good job Bizarro, I didn't even have to call you." I said as I giggled.
Bizarro purred in response to my attention until movement from the downed soldiers caught his attention. He jumped in front of me and hissed loudly, splaying his tentacle tails to look larger and surround me protectively.
"Should I kill them Little Shadow?" Bizarro asked, his voice rumbling with barely contained fury.
"Yes, though kill the one that grabbed me slowly…" I confirmed for him.
"As you wish…" Bizarro replied then rushed the two soldiers.
I turned away as Bizarro pounced on the two men, who scrambled in panic once they saw my evo descending on them. Bizarro's growls and the men's terrified and desperate screams sang volumes of the fate the men suffered.
I looked back up to the King's Glaive open door and saw Bo staring at me with an annoyed expression. Gadget perched happily on his shoulder and munching on a apple.
"What?" I asked defensively. Bo stomped his foot and pointed at Bizarro.
"CHASE GAVE YOU THE STRANGE MEOOOOOOOOOOW!"
