And I don't mean metaphorically, this fanfiction is quite literally, shit.
I guess I shouldn't expect much; this was one of my very first works, and of course, my writing has gotten better over 2 years.
But the spelling mistakes and the god-awful jokes... Thank god Grammarly exists now.
Right, anyways, the main reason I came back to this fanfiction is pretty simple.
I get notifications from this every fucking week.
Every fucking week, some psycopath goes to this god-awful fanfiction, reads it, sees it was abandoned 10 months ago and goes "Oh, this is the perfect story to give a collection".
I even get a power stone periodically.
It's not just webnovel. I logged into Wattpad and fanfiction.net, and somehow this 10-month abandoned fanfiction is more popular than the current fanfiction I work on and update weekly.
Like why? Don't you guys have any self-respect?
Of course you don't; you read fanfiction. (Ironic, coming from someone who writes them)
So I got to investigating and I finally figured it out. When you go to the main webnovel home page, you come across a section called "Top Fanfic Tags."
Isekai, Anime, MHA, Pokemon, BNHA.
Somehow, my 2-year-old fanfic has about half of the most popular current fanfic tags which is why people are just flocking to this book.
I was just going to ignore this at first, but then I figured this tags thing out, and I had a thought
"Let's exploit this."
This is a god-given opportunity, fate itself, and I would be stupid to pass this up. Also, I feel it would be a waste for people who've sent me this stuff if I just straight up ignore this.
So, as of this moment "Pokemon in MHA" will be continuing.
Well, not continuing immediately. I'm going to rewrite the initial god-awful chapters first.
I intend to keep the plot mostly the same, so don't worry about re-reading. I'm just going to make the chapters less cringy and more readable.
I'll probably remove the plot about Matsumoto (or whatever the fuck his name was) revealing his ability to the government. That was, quite frankly, a stupid decision for a 10-year-old with only two level 16 Pokemon to do.
I know why I did that though. about 10 months ago I was going through a tough time and studying my ass off trying to get into a good college. I guess at that time I was frustrated that my parents weren't seeing my efforts, so I vented that in this fanfiction, making it so the main character received some recognition.
Anyways, I'm mentally sound now.
Yippeee.
I have two exams this week though.
Not Yipee.
Also, I might remove that draw thing, which limits Matsumoto's ability to capture Pokemon.
The main reason I added that was because I made Matsumoto enter the world 6 years before canon starts, and I realized with a system like this, he would get a team of level 100 Pokemon by 6 years.
That is fine by me, but I guess the younger me wasn't fond of overpowered characters that made canon a breeze.
Regardless, I'm fixing that issue by just increasing Matsumoto's age.
Yeah I lied, I guess you will have to re-read the initial chapters, especially considering that those chapters are only like 1k words long as compared to the my usual 4k word chapters that I release.
Next week though, I got exams.
