William Griffith gently wrapped his arm around her and murmured, "Have you thought about Grandpa's birthday gift yet?"
"Oh! I haven't decided yet!" Cherish Turner was annoyed.
"I have an idea."
"What?"
William pecked her lips and whispered tenderly, "He might like having another child in the family."
On the eve of the birthday feast, Robert Griffith and Edward Smith met formally for the first time. The old man was very pleased with Edward.
As a father, Isaac Griffith naturally approved of this future son-in-law. After all, Edward loved Hailey, and his family background was excellent. Most importantly, Isaac felt the young man was a good person after talking with him.
"Tomorrow is Grandpa's birthday; you should come to the banquet too." Isaac thought of all his daughter Hailey had been through, and couldn't help but feel pity for her.
