"I'm having afternoon tea with a friend," Cherish Turner said cheerfully, adding, "I'll be back soon, you sit for a while."
Without waiting for his response, she hung up the phone again.
William Griffith was dumbfounded.
Erxi brought him a cup of coffee and grabbed one for herself. She then noticed the new item on the floor and curiously asked, "Why is there a health tonic here?"
William Griffith's face was cold, and Erxi asked again, "Did you bring it?"
William remained silent, which was as good as admitting it.
Erxi stared at the health tonic, thought for a moment, widened her beautiful eyes in disbelief, and said, "William Griffith, did you bring this for Cherish?"
William remained silent again, and Erxi muttered, "I don't think she needs it or would like it."
William raised his eyebrows slightly, indicating disagreement.
About half an hour later, Cherish Turner finally returned.
