We were having dinner when the police arrived for questioning. I escorted them to the study where I was shown two different videos that was taken from inside Apple's room. The first a woman is seen walking into the room. She injected Apple with some unknown substance. She waved goodbye as she left the room. The second one was up close. This showed that the killer had black eyes and gray hair. I was shocked to see that Apple was murdered. I didn't think that SHE would tie me up so that SHE get rid of her. I mean SHE has been asking and I had been stalling in the hopes that Apple would come to her senses. They saw my genuine expression and asked me politely where I was when this happened. Before I could say anything Henry showed them a security video of me cooking for dinner for my dinner guests. There was a clock behind me which proves I was here while Apple was being killed. I asked them why they came here. They explained that Apple had left instructions that if she dies it is most likely that I did it. I asked them for proof and they said they had none. I explained that Apple was crazy. The police apologized and they left. I called the captain to complain. She apologized for the inconvenience. She said she will make it a rule to convince people to approach me when they have undeniable proof that I had done something worth arresting. I thanked her and she apologized again before hanging up. DD asked me to reconsider leave my job. I told him that I will think about it.
When the police left the guests asked what happened and I said it was work related. They laughed it off. DD looked at Henry and he gave him a nod. Dan came and started to bark happily so I gave him a hug and kiss. I scratch behind his ear and sat down next to DD to enjoy dinner. He kissed my hand and I kissed his cheek. He smiled brighter than the sun. His smile grew brighter and I blushed like never before. The security were snickering quietly. I knew I will be teased like nobody's business. Before we spoke a word we were interrupted by one of the guests. Dan happy ate bits of beef that we put on his plate.
When they left DD picked me up and carried me to the couch. Henry explained that I had no clue that Apple was dead. DD was confused as he asked me why I wanted to be arrested. I sadly answered, "Because I didn't try hard enough to find you" He happily forgave me as I leaned on him and cried. The security saw this and they smiled at the love I felt for my husband. He kissed my forehead and we went upstairs. Dan was already asleep and Cheryl was a few doors away with one of her friends.
The next morning I woke up to smell of breakfast in bed. DD wanted to know if Andropov ever did that for me. I recalled when he was trying to woo me when he snuck into a beach house that I rented. I knew he had ulterior motives so it didn't work. He even proposed but I knew it would be wrong to accept so I told him to leave. I even recalled that he had pepper sprayed me. DD shook his head as he retorted, "I should have married you straight out of high school. Had I done that none of this would have happened. My life would be less stressful." I reminded him that everything happens for a reason and we can't change the past. I explained, "I had days when I wished I had proposed to you sooner as well." We held hands for a moment and we dove into our meal.
I arrived at work and people were curious about my relationship with Apple. I explained that she was someone I had found her on the street after she had run away from an assailant. I told them the abridged version. They asked me pointed questions. I answered them immediately that proved that I had nothing to hide. They checked the records they have on Apple. And footage from traffic cams. They all came to one conclusion it proves that I was telling the truth. I was sad to hear that she had died. Thankfully they can tell that I was being genuine.
Officer Marion sat next to me as I went through documents for a court case. I explained to her that this was one of most prolific serial killer there was. He has many followers that not accounted for. They will do anything to facilitate his escape. They want to make sure he doesn't get the death penalty. So they will try to kill the officers who are there to make sure he is standing before a judge for prosecution. So say her goodbyes because it possible that she won't see her family ever again. She nod her head as she walked to make a call. I closed my eyes and call HER. SHE strapped me down and went to work.
We showed up in court and I made sure that the rookies were unharmed. I kept an eye on people to make sure I look for clues that would give them away. I found a woman who was eagerly waiting for John Cooke to show up. I approached her to find out who she is. She was his lawyer. I made it clear she will see him when he enters the court room. If he were anyone else she could see him but he has confessed to first degree murder so she denied the privilege. She tried pull a tantrum so I happily took her to see a few judges. I took her to see eight judges all of them said no to her request. She sulked as she walked to the court room. Hah! Too bad, so sad. I closed my eyes and switched places with her.
I looked to see Marion was standing vigilant. I walked next to her. I gave her a nod and she smiled at me. Cooke was dragged to the room with cuffs on his hands and ankles that were linked by a chain. He wasn't allowed to change into casual outfit. He was dragged straight to the court. Marion followed the convoy and the way she did raised alarm bells. I instinctively pulled out my gun and took it off safety. True to my gut feeling she pulled out her gun and shot a police officer in the chest. The next one was shot in the head. I aimed and shot her between the eyes. She dropped dead and Cooke stared at her with disgust that she failed to facilitate his escape. The rest of the officers dragged him to court as I tried to help the rookie to stop the bleeding. Thankfully an ambulance was on stand by in case this would happen. He was taken to the nearest hospital where he was cared for.
I walked back to help the officers to stand guard. They were surprised since they had mixed stories about me. They decided that they will ditch the rumors and appreciate me for who I was. A kind and caring person. They were upset that one of their own had betrayed them. They were happy that no one else was hurt. The next acolyte showed up while the court was preceding. He rammed his car through the wall. He started spraying the place with bullets. Everyone ducked to avoid getting shot. I waited till he ran out of bullets and shot him in the head. He fell dead. John tried to use the opportunity to run away. I shot him in the knee. He fell face down howling in pain. I made it clear that he is not taking anymore lives. This terror ends now. He stared at me for a moment and he smiled.
