Chapter Four
They arrived at Kieran's place and Immediately they entered, He pulled her closer to him and kissed her on her lips passionately.
"Hmm, so soft" he muttered
"I have heard that, countless times from you"
He moved closer to her and pulled her to him, she relaxed her body on him, pressing her breasts to his chest, they started kissing passionately. Kieran moved his hands to her buttocks and squeezed it, making her moan.
Suddenly her phone rang while they were making out.
"Um, sorry excuse me," she said as she went to where she dropped her bag, she looked at the caller and was angry to see that it was from Peter
"What the fuck!" she muttered, "Who is that?" Kieran inquired

"Come on, you have been rejecting the calls since, is it a man?" He said coming closer to her
She switched her phone off and went to meet him halfway.

"Okay never mind, today is Saturday and I guess you are not at work right?"
"What is it?"
"Well, I just feel like hanging out with you"
"I can't, sorry"
"Why Emma, are you still at me?"
"No, I'm not"
"Remember you promised to go out with me?"
Emma rolled her eyes "I didn't say I would"
"Yes, you did, when I asked you before you, said maybe some other time".
She knew he was going to say that
"Excuse me, I only said maybe when you said we should go out that day"
"Emma lets hang out together, come on"
"Sorry, no"
"Okay, let me take you to a cinema if you feel like I want to act funny huh?"
Emma doesn't want to go but after his persistence, she later agreed and they went to a cinema.
"Whoa!, I'm so glad to see you" he shouted". They got their popcorn and sat down to watch the movie, while they were watching the movie, Peter was stealing glances at Emma.
She noticed he was looking at her all the time but she acted as if she didn't see him.
"Wow, this movie is really interesting," she said after they finished watching it.
"I'm glad, you enjoyed it
"I did thank you"
"Um, let us go to a nearby cafeteria and eat lunch", Peter said
Emma wanted to object but he quickly held her hand and led her to the place.
"Mm" Emma enjoyed their food and Peter knew she would, he also loved eating their food whenever he comes to the Cinema.
"Do you like the food"? he asked when she finished eating it
"I sure did". They were interrupted by the waitress
"Can I clear the table please?" She said in a polite way
"Yes sure, thank you"
When the waitress left, Peter cracked a lot of jokes and Emma laughed wholeheartedly, she enjoyed all the jokes.
She realized that he wasn't that bad as she projected him to be, he was a really funny being and he made her laugh countless time
"Oh my God, please stop my eyes are teary already", she said while laughing hard.
"Oh really, Peter stood up from his seat, he went to where she was sat down, then brought handkerchief out of his pocket which he used to clean her face gently.
Emma wanted to stop him but he was fast, she thanked him and he went to sit back.
"Thirty minutes later, they were still there.
"I have to go now Peter, you really made my day thank you but I have to get going"
"Ouch, that hurts but it's okay I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, let's hang out more often," He said with a broad smile on his face.
"Maybe" she smiled and left
When she got home she saw a message on her phone
"Hanging out with you is the best way to kill boredom, hope to see you soon. P". She smiled and went to do her laundry.
Can I come in? Tina, Emma's secretary, said as she knocked on Emma's door
"Please come in" Emma replied while tying on her computer.
"These are for you" she presented a bouquet to her boss with a letter.
Emma raised her head to see what it was, she was stunned. "What!" She looked at Tina in confusion
"Are you sure these are for me?"
"Yes it is for you, the delivery guy said it" she hand it over to her
"Alright, thanks".
"You're welcome," she said and left
Emma perceived the fragrance of the flower
"Mm, this is refreshing" She inhaled the smell, she still doesn't who sent the flower, she tore the envelope and read the letter
"Beautiful Emma, I want to seize this opportunity to tell you, you are all I think of. From P."
"Oh my God, why is he doing all...."
"What is going on here? Kate said as entered Emma's office and saw the bouquet of flower.
"Whoa whoa whoa, there is love in the air," she said as she read the letter and smiled
"Excuse me, what love?
"Oh, come on Emma, don't tell me you don't know Peter likes you, maybe he even loves you."
Emma opened her mouth
"Kate! What are you saying?"
"The truth"
''Hell no"
"Hell yes, who wouldn't fall for this angelic face of yours," She said with disdain hidden in her voice
"Well, they shouldn't fall, because I'm taken already"
"I won't be so sure of that if I were you," Kate said bitterly looking at Emma's office with jealousy.
Emma looked at Kate's face in confusion
"I beg your pardon? What was that supposed to mean?"
Kate looked at her and saw that she was hurt. She was so happy to see the hurtful expression on her face, but she has to keep it cool and pretended to care.
"Never mind Emma"
"No, of course, I will mind, I said I'm taken, the next thing you said was 'I won't be too sure of that if I were you?" Why would you say that?
Kate moved closer to her and held her hand. "I don't want to be the one to break this to you but your so-called boyfriend Kieran is still seeing his ex-girlfriend, Vivian"
Immediately Emma heard her, she lost her balance and almost fell.
"Whoa, take it easy babe" Kate supported her with her hand and moved her to the nearest chair
"Please have a seat"
"No, no repeat what you just said now, that can't be, never, he went to London for business," she said shaking her head vigorously
"Darling men will tell you what you want to hear"
"No, my man is different, sorry Kate, but I don't believe you, I know my man, he loves me and he will never betray me never!"
"Then you might want to see this" Kate said and she handed her phone to Emma to see proof.
Emma couldn't believe what she was saying.
"What! this can be true, it can't be!"
She saw the video of, Kieran and Vivian coming out of the hospital, Kieran was holding her hand and he helped her with her handbag too.
She's expecting his baby Emma, that's why they both traveled. Emma felt like her world was crashing down in a wink.
Tears were rolling down from Emma's eyes as pain and betrayal strike into her heart and tore it into pieces.
"H...he told me he was going on a business trip," she said crying.
"I'm sorry Emma, they went to sort their issue out that's why they traveled, to get space and who knows, maybe they might even continue from where they stopped" Kate loved it as she was torturing Emma, she loved it as the pain was written all over her face.
"That's enough Kate, thank you" Emma returned her phone to her, she took her bag and left the office.
"Tania?"
"Yes ma'am," her Secretary said
"I'm going home now, I'm not feeling too well if Mr. Joe asks of me tell him I left office because I wasn't feeling too fine.
Tania was worried because her boss was looking pale
"Are you okay ma'am?
"I'm fine thank you"
Emma left the office to go home because she needed space and be free from work, she wanted to ponder what Kate said a few minutes before.
She couldn't believe Kieran would do that to her but the video she saw was saying another thing
While she was driving and thinking, she bumped into someone's car
"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry" she shouted apologizing to the angry driver.
"Watch it lady" the driver yelled, She wasn't paying attention to the road at all.
All she could think of was Kieran and his ex ex-girlfriend she started driving slowly and her head was hurting because of pain
When she got home, she tried to open her door with the keys but she couldn't because her hands were trembling, she fumbled with the key for three minutes before she could open the door.
When she got inside she started crying loudly. "How could he do this to me, he made me fall in love with him then he went back to his ex? God I was such a fool for thinking that this love will last"
She scattered her hair and sat on the floor sobbing. "He made a fool out of me, he betrayed my love for him," she said as she was crying she slept off after crying her heart out.
"Where is Emma?'' Debbie asked Tania when she saw that her office was locked when it was not closing an hour yet.
"She left already"
Debbie was surprised because Emma doesn't leave the office until closing hour
"She said she's no feeling well"
"Oh my God, really!?"
"Yes, and honestly she doesn't look okay to me when she told me," Tania said worriedly
What? Is she sick, she doesn't look sick when I saw her this morning, Debbie called Emma's number but she didn't pick the call, she called her again it was ringing but she didn't pick it
"What is wrong with my girl? this is unlike her, I think I need to go see her, yes I need to" she went to her office and quickly rounded her task up" Then she picked her things and drove to Emma's place
Debbie went to her place, she entered and saw her sleeping on the floor with scattered hair.
"God, what is wrong my girl?" she moved closer to her and saw her face.
"Oh my God, she has been crying all this while" she tapped her gently on the shoulder.
"Emma wake up"
She woke up and saw Debbie's worried face
"What happened to you babe I went to your office and your door was closed, Tania told me you came home because you were sick"
"I wasn't sick before but now I am seriously sick"
"Why? What happened, Were you crying?"
Emma nodded her head
"Why were you crying what happened, talk to me"
She opened her mouth to talk to but as she remembered what Kate told her, tears started flowing from her eyes again and this is hurting Debbie badly
"It's Kieran"
"Kieran? What about him?"
"H... he is seeing Vivian"
"Seeing who? Who is Vivian?"
"His ex-girlfriend"
"What! Debbie yelled "No no that can't be possible"
"It is Debbie, she's even pregnant for him"
"Sweet Jesus, that can't be true, I don't believe this, I know Kieran, he would never do that to you" Debbie defended him
"He did Debbie, I thought he could never do it too until I saw the video," she said weeping
"What video!"
"I saw a video of Kieran and Vivian coming of out a hospital holding hands, Debbie you need to see the way Kieran was holding her hand like his life depended on it, he was even carrying her bag"
"Who told you all these and where did you see the video?"
"Kate, she was the one who showed me"
Debbie opened her mouth in bewilderment
"Kate? You mean Kate our colleague?"
"Yes"
"Damn it! I have always known that girl is up to no good"
"That doesn't matter now, what matters is that Kieran played me for a fool, he toyed with my emotions, he made me fall for him then he broke my heart," She said weeping and sniffing
"Emma come on, you can't be so sure, maybe the video was not a recent one, have you thought about that? you can't just jump to conclusions just like that".
"Debbie, I know what I saw, it was a recent video"
"What made you think it was a recent video huh? It could fake"
"No Debbie",
"It wasn't, it's real"
"How did you know?"
"He was wearing the wristwatch I got for him"
"Oh my God, really?
"Y...yes" She tried to stop crying but she couldn't, the pain was unbearable.
"Oh baby come over here" Debbie pulled her closer and hugged her tightly
"Cry it out dear, cry it all out, do not keep it in, never bury your pain inside, my shoulders are yours for today Emma" Emma even wept harder after hearing that.
Debbie raised her head up
"Emma?"
"Yes?
"Look at me". She raised her head to see her friend
"I will advise you to hear Kieran side of the story first"
Emma shakes her head violently.
"No, I don't want to hear from him or see him ever again",
"Emma, don't think like that, you can't lose that kind of man just like that, at least here..."
They were interrupted by a call and it was Kieran's call
"Speaking of the devil," Emma said as she tried to reject the call.
Debbie quickly stopped her from rejecting it."No, no pick it"
"No way"
"Come on, perhaps he even wants to explain, just hear him out please".
"Okay fine."
