Chapter 35 - Alice Kuonji

Alice Kuonji is a hidden witch living in the present era, the "last bird" of a lineage of mages. Born and raised in the world of magecraft from a young age, Alice has a complex relationship with her homeland, England. However, due to certain circumstances, she was forced to leave England and settle in a city in Japan.

As the only daughter of the Kuonji conglomerate in Japan, Alice inherited the wealth and privileges that come with a grand mansion. Although her lineage suggests she was meant to be one of the few pure witches in the world, her fate was altered by her mother's marriage to the heir of the Kuonji family.

Alice's life is steeped in magical elements, passed down through generations of her family who have long been connected to the world of witches. Her mother, a member of the Meinster Witches, possessed remarkable skills in using talismans that defied the conventional rules of magecraft.

Although she appears cold and indifferent on the surface, Alice actually has a friendly, curious, and slightly short-tempered side. She cherishes the memories of her mother deeply, which is why she is so reserved and protective of those memories, unwilling to let others intrude upon them.

Her bond with Aoko is especially close—Alice treasures Aoko as her very first friend. However, she also has a strong possessive nature, harboring a deep fear of losing what she holds dear and being betrayed by those she trusts.

In the collab storyline, Alice is also involved in the 1999 Kumano Incident, where she was labeled as Suspect A. Although the incident has been resolved, Alice still keeps the truth behind the death of a certain individual hidden. While Aoko believes that person died to protect Alice, Alice knows the painful truth—that they sacrificed their life for Aoko.

DECK

QQAABEx

Q: 5 hits

A: 5 hits

B: 4 hits

Ex: 5 hits

For NP gain, the best chain is AQAEx. With a base NP charge per hit of 0.51%, 20% Arts and Quick Up, and 30% NP Gain Up from Skill 1 at level 10, plus an additional 10% Arts Up from her passive, assuming no crits or overkill, we get:

Arts + Quick + Arts + Extra

= 16.24% + 9.28% + 29.17% + 6.63%

= 61.33% total NP gain.

That's really fast—just slightly below Cleopatra. Her base NP gain may be low, but the high hit counts and skillset make up for it. Also, because her NP is an AoE Quick-type with a high number of hits, she can refund some NP. Assuming no crits or overkill, she can refund about 16.71%, which is a bit above Idol Alter.

For star generation, her best chain is QBQEx. With a base star gen rate of 10.6% and 20% Quick Up from Skill 1 level 10, assuming no crits or overkill, she can generate approximately 21–33 critical stars.

NOBLE PHANTASM

1. Great Three, Flat Snark - Monster of the Fairy Tales, Oil of the Moon

Rank: A+

Classification: Anti-Army

Type: Quick

Range: 0-??

Maximum number of targets: ??

Hit-counts: 7

Effect: Ignores Evasion for 1 turn (Activates first) + Increases own damage against Human enemies by 30% for 1 turn (Activates first) + Deals (NP1 600%) damage to all enemies + 500% Chance to inflict Terror status for 1 time, 3 turns to them + Reduces their critical attack chance by 20% for 3 turns.

(Terror = 60% Chance to activate the debuff below every turn. When activated, 500% Chance to Stun them for 1 turn.)

Overcharge Effect: Deals extra damage (150~200% depends OC) to enemies with Man Attribute.

"Fine. Let's play tag. The ancient Mystics. The smiling moon's surface. The scattering stage burns. Be gone with it. Smiley Flat Snark."

- Caster

Flat Snark is one of the Great Three, possessing an extraordinary power that allows it to create a powerful Bounded Field. Within this field, all objects that have been forgotten and abandoned are brought back to life, functioning as if straight out of a fairy tale, all under her control. When Flat Snark is activated in a location like an abandoned amusement park, objects such as broken buses, Ferris wheels, and carousels begin operating again as Ploy Kickshaws.

The Great Three refers to the three most powerful Ploy Kickshaws, inherited by Alice from her mother. Each possesses exceptional abilities capable of overlaying a "Texture of the Age of Gods" upon the modern world. Within the perspective of the Mage's Association, the Great Three are considered more valuable than an entire kingdom.

Damage Calculation:

Let's gather the data first:

ATK stat: 11,650 at level 90 (with +1000 Fou)

NP Level: NP1 (600%)

Quick Up: 20% from Skill 1 (Level 10)

ATK Up: 30% from Skill 2 (Level 10)

NP Multiplier: 0.9x base for AoE Quick NP

Now we can move on to damage calculation from here

Normal = 18.057,69/enemy

Forest/City/Darkness Field = 20.835,79/enemy

Against Human = 23.474,99/enemy

Against Man attribute OC 100% = 27.086,53/enemy

Against Man attribute OC 300% = 31.600,95/enemy

Against Man attribute OC 500% = 36.115,37/enemy

Forest/City/Darkness Field + Against Human = 27.086,53/enemy

Forest/City/Darkness Field + Against Man attribute OC 100% = 31.253,69/enemy

Forest/City/Darkness Field + Against Man attribute OC 300% = 36.462,64/enemy

Forest/City/Darkness Field + Against Man attribute OC 500% = 41.671,58/enemy

Forest/City/Darkness Field + Against Man attribute OC 100% + Against Human = 40.629,79/enemy

Forest/City/Darkness Field + Against Man attribute OC 300% + Against Human = 47.401,43/enemy

Forest/City/Darkness Field + Against Man attribute OC 500% + Against Human = 54.173,06/enemy

Normally, her damage is pretty underwhelming-below Shikibu. Considering the AoE Caster competition isn't particularly fierce, low damage isn't exactly unusual for this class. That said, she does have a few ways to boost her damage, and they're relatively easy to access.

2. Great Three, Wandersnatch - Monster of the Fairy Tales, Rose Hound

Rank: A+

Classification: Anti-Unit

Range: 0-??

Maximum number of targets: ??

Hit-counts: 7

"Let's play a real game of tag. This is your dead end. Our rose garden. Isn't that right? Cute Alice …Fufu Fufu Ahahahahaha!!"

- Caster

Wandersnatch is one of the Great Three that can be recreated by Alice. It takes the form of a dense, impenetrable fog that can envelop an entire mountain or city. Its name is inspired by the Bandersnatch, the original monster from Lewis Carroll's stories.

This thick fog serves as a den for various bloodthirsty beasts with sharp fangs and crimson claws. Hounds and lizards—possibly dragons—with claws the color of blood can be faintly seen moving within the white mist. They are never fully visible, and because they cannot be clearly perceived, they are invincible and untamable. Any prey that strays into the fog has no means to fight back or escape.

Only those who can perceive the true, complete form of Wandersnatch are capable of escaping the world of white mist.

ACTIVE SKILL

1. Diddle Diddle: Banquet of the Night

Rank: A

Effect: Increases own Quick performance (20% in level 10) for 3 turns + Increases own Arts performance (20% in level 10) for 3 turns + Charges own NP gauge (50% in level 10) + Increases party's NP generation rate (30% in level 10) for 3 turns.

Cooldown: 8/7/6

A sweet poison, like candy, was given to this girl.

"Hey diddle diddle, The cat and the fiddle,"

The chime of a black cat's bell awakens the fairy tale from its slumber. A banquet of tools echoes through the night, leaping over the moon to the other side. Crossing the stars, forever beyond the horizon.

"…And the dish ran away with the spoon."

In terms of gameplay, this skill boosts her Arts and Quick performance-not just in damage, but also in other aspects, especially NP gain through the NP Gain Up effect. Aside from her already impressive NP gain, the skill also provides a large NP charge, allowing her to fire off her NP immediately when paired with the right starter setup.

2. Thames Troll: Giant of the Bridge

Rank: C

Effect: Increases own attack (30% in level 10) for 3 turns + Increases own defense (30% in level 10) for 3 turns + Increases own attack on Forest, City, or Darkness Battlefield (20% in level 10) for 3 turns + Increases own defense on Forest, City, or Darkness Battlefield (20% in level 10) for 3 turns.

Cooldown: 8/7/6

The world's most precious secret was given to this girl.

"... Broken down, broken down." Above the river, countless prisoners. Below it, countless victims. A strange creature resembling a bridge-like arm of a giant--- the "London Bridge is broken down, my fair lady."

In terms of gameplay, this skill boosts both her damage output and defense-making it a solid all-around skill. Both effects receive increased percentages when Alice is on Forest, City, or Darkness terrain.

3. Lost Robin Rondo: Cock Robin's Murder

Rank: E

Effect: Grants self-Substitution status for 1 attack, 2 turns + Charges own NP gauge (20% in level 10) + 500% Chance to reduce own buff count of Robin Counter by 1.

(Substitution = Special Anti-Purge Defense that cannot be affected by Buff Removal)

(Can only be used when the skill user has Robin Counter left)

Cooldown: 4/3/2

A tale known to no one… was given to this girl.

"Who did kill Cock Robin? I, said the Sparrow."

For the witch, a black cat. For the last witch, a red robin.

"Who'll bear the pall? We, said the Wren."

Though slain countless times, the knight's heart remains as bright as the blue sky.

"When they heard the bell toll, for poor Cock Robin."

One day, to you—rejected by death—I will teach the meaning of mourning.

Gameplay-wise, aside from the NP charge (which she already has in Skill 1, and her NP gain is quite high too), this skill features a unique effect called Substitution. It's a form of attack negation that cannot be bypassed by Pierce Invincibility and cannot be removed—making it even stronger than Anti-Purge.

Thanks to her passive, Alice starts the battle with 13 Robin Counters (Substitution only consumes 1 per use). And with an extremely short cooldown, this skill can be activated frequently. Of course, it's not without drawbacks—since each Substitution only blocks one hit, and Robin Counters cannot be regenerated, if the battle drags on too long and she runs out of counters, she won't be able to use Substitution anymore.

PASSIVE SKILLS

1. Territory Creation

Rank: A

Effect: Increases own Arts performance by 10%.

Unlike Aoko, Alice's ability to create workshops is of the highest class.

2. Item Construction

Rank: A

Effect: Increases own debuff success rate by 10%.

Unlike Aoko, Alice's ability to craft magical items is top-tier.

3. Folklore Defense

Rank: B

Effect: Reduces own damage taken except from Noble Phantasms by 400.

Also reduces damage taken from Ailment Debuffs by 400.

A specialized defensive attribute. Modern weapons cannot harm a monster like her; only methods found in folklore might prove effective. This skill reduces damage from all non-Noble Phantasm attacks.

4. Yumina

Rank: C

Effect: Grants self Instant-Kill Guts status for 5 times (Revives with 1000 HP).

Also grants self an On-Guts-Activate effect and Robin Counter ×13.

On-Guts-Activate: Restores 2000 HP when Guts activates.

Robin Counter: Number of uses available for Lost Robin Rondo.

A trait inherited from the Meinster bloodline. Alice doesn't possess Guts as an active skill—but if she revives through Guts, almost all her injuries are instantly healed. This passive increases the HP restored upon Guts activation. Additionally, deaths caused by Instant-Kill will automatically trigger this Guts effect.

Alice cannot die except under extremely specific circumstances. She cannot be killed by acts born of hatred, fear, randomness, or nature—she will always return, no matter how severe the wound. The only action that won't trigger this resurrection… is one born out of love.

APPEND SKILL

1.Extra Attack Finesse Improvement

Effect: Increases own Extra Attack performance (50% in level 10)

2. Mana Loading

Effect: Starts battle with NP gauge (20% in level 10)

3. Anti-Foreigner Attack Damage Aptitude

Effect: Increases own attack against Foreigner enemies (30% in level 10)
