Right in front of me, a small scrimmage was going on, with two against—I don't know how many—but the other guys were heavily outmatched against the two crybabies.
"To be honest, this was the last thing I ever expected to happen." I muttered, looking at two people walking around like the undead, whilst killing people that were attacking them, all the while ugly crying.
Sighing, I froze the entire hideout, making them both turn around and look at me.
"Kitsuna?" Amari said, looking at me confused.
"Hello Amari, I assumed you were still at home." I asked, walking closer to them.
"We needed some fresh air." Amari said, looking to the side.
"And fresh air ended up killing criminals." I said, nodding in understanding.
"They deserve it." Amari said with some confidence, even though she still had tears streaming down her face. I nodded in agreement as I turned to face Zagan, who appeared even more down than he had been the day before the tournament.
"Hmm, so do you feel any better?" I approached her, asking how she was feeling.
"No."
"You didn't know something like this would happen. It's really not your fault they are dead." I tapped her shoulder, trying to comfort her.
"It doesn't matter. It was me who unleashed the spell. I killed innocent people, Kitsuna." Amari looked up at me.
"Hmm, you might view them as innocent, but I wouldn't do that. Most of them came from the federation, so technically it was enemies you killed from another kingdom." I clarified my explanation, causing her to stare at me with a deadpan expression.
"That is not going to make me feel happier, Kitsuna. And secondly, we aren't at war with the federation." Amari said, glaring at me.
"Hmm, how about if I tell you that those guys in the barrier had some orders from the higher-ups to kill you, and they were just trying to execute them? Sadly for them, they underestimated you big time. So it was self-defense." I said with a hopeful expression.
"They didn't, though. They knew my strength ahead of time. I learned that spell just the day before." Amari looked down at the floor, feeling a wave of sadness.
"Losing when you have a foolproof plan is always because you have underestimated your opponent. Something I hope you two will never do again." I spoke, glancing at both of them, but focusing primarily on Zagan, as he had yet to speak.
'His girl almost got killed, and this guy is making everything all about himself. or, well, trying to.' I thought while I was looking at him, still sulking but giving Amari small glances. Sighing, I patted Amaris's head.
"You always do these speeches." Amaris pushed my hand off her head, looking down with a hint of shame.
"Zagan, are you okay in there?" I said, trying to get the guy to talk.
"Hmm, I guess." He muttered, not even looking at me.
"You don't look so good." I said this with a hint of sarcasm, which caused Amari to crouch down in an attempt to comfort him.
"I wonder why." Zzagan said, glaring daggers at me.
"So what now?" I asked, looking at the two with a raised eyebrow.
"I don't know, maybe wash ourselves in the nearest stream and go back home," Amari said, pulling Zagan onto his feet.
"Hmm, okay, good luck with that." I uttered those words, aware that I had frozen the nearest stream.
"And what are you going to do?"
"Well, I will clean up all this mess." I explained, gesturing around us.
"You?"
"Yeah? What? Did you think I wouldn't clean up a massacre?" I asked with actual confusion.
"Yes," Amari responded, which slightly irritated me.
"Whatever happens, the nearest stream is that way. Now go." I gestured for them to leave.
"Fine,"
Waiting for them to get out of the base, I immediately froze the exit and jumped to the second floor.
"Where do you think you're going?" I said, pulling back the person's shoulder and tripping them in the process.
To my surprise, the woman looked like a highly skilled assassin, yet she showed no signs of confusion when I caught her. The woman, on one knee, saluted me as a subordinate would do to their generals.
"Sigh, who are you?" I inquired, perceiving her as a potential bodyguard of some kind.
"My name is not important enough for Lady Kitsuna." The woman's statement prompted me to shake my head.
'I hate fools like these.' I thought, annoyed.
"Yeah, no. Answer the question." I glared down at her, frustrated that my analysis had failed.
"My name is Karen Wells."
"Alrighty, so why are you following my sister?" I asked, not remembering anyone with that name in the black ops.
"I am not following your sister, but young master Zagan." She explained, looking at me.
"Huh, why?"
"His parents are worried about him." She simply stated.
"… Hmm, so how many did you kill for him?"
"Sorry." She said, not understanding my question.
Glaring down at her, I repeated my question. "How many people did you kill for him?"
"Nothing; Amari killed most of them."
"Sigh, I am sure you know me from rumors already."
"Yes?"
"So don't fucking lie to me." I yelled, bringing the temperature down around me even more, making her lips quiver and turn slightly blue instantly.
"17 Lady Kitsuna."
"There we go. Now, Keran Wells, you can go." I said, "Open the wall behind you so she can leave."
"Thank you, Lady Kitsuna." She stood up as quickly as she could.
"Make sure you don't regret your life choices."
"?" Unable to comprehend my question, she halted abruptly and refocused her gaze on me.
"Just fuck off; you will understand one day." I gestured for her to leave, just as I had done with Amari and Zagan.
'Sigh, at least they left me some playthings,' I thought, looking deeper into the base.
Dispelling the rest of the ice, the smell of iron left the air.
"Always nice to have clean air." I muttered with a grin, walking down towards the basement only for a damp smell to replace it.
"Hmm, well, the clean air didn't stay for long enough." I wrinkled my nose at the damp smell.
Ignoring the smell, I looked around the jail cells with a raised eyebrow.
"I knew this group was fucked up, but what the hell is this?" I muttered, seeing how they locked up their 'goods.'. Making fire above my hands, I light up the jail cells and grimace at the sight.
I have seen and done some fucked-up things in this life and my previous one, but even so, this is the first time I have ever seen something like this.
"Hello, is anyone still alive down here?" I yelled into the dark.
'I do feel some presence in the back,' I thought, walking up to the far-end jail cell.
"Hey, I am not here to hurt you or anything." I explained pulling off the jail door with ease.
"No, don't come closer; he will know." A woman with two pink-slitted eyes appeared in the dark.
"He? Everyone above is dead." I said, stepping closer.
"… Did you kill a dragon?"
"Hmm, no? Is he a dragon?." I asked with unintentional excitement, having the thought of fighting a dragon other than Kayda.
"Hmm, no, he is still alive, I guess. Though it should be fine to come out, he won't be able to get through my ice." I said with a small white lie.
"No, no, you don't understand. He isn't just any dragon. He has a rare class with Berserker," the woman said worriedly.
"Hmm, at least he might get rid of my boredom then." I said, shrugging at her.
"What?"
"You heard me; now come out and let me check you." I gestured for you to come out, as I didn't want to walk on the damp floor.
"I can't carry him." She muttered so softly, even though I had a hard time hearing her.
"What?" Confused, I made the fire grow, making more light.
"Whoa, that's the last thing I expected to see." I exclaimed, baffled, seeing a young wolf-kin on her knees, dehydrated and malnourished. That wasn't the surprising thing; it was the green dragon egg behind her, something that was the same size as her.
Getting over my surprise, I looked at her with pity.
"Alright, can you move at all?" I asked, not expecting her to say yes.
"..."
"Okay, so I will be teleporting you and, I presume, your egg? To my room at the Draigs." As I walked towards her, the floor froze beneath my footsteps. I retrieved a teleportation scroll from my storage.
"Wow!" Before she could realize what was going on, she disappeared in front of me.
"Well, with this, hopefully he shows up." I said, grinning in anticipation.
Looking around more, I didn't see or feel any living being in the basement anymore. Shrugging, I turned around and walked out, although I did light up the entire basement with fire to clean all the gruesome stuff.
Walking out of the hideout, I made my ice throne and sat down, waiting for the impending dragon to appear.
(10 min later)
"Man, I am getting bored again."
(1 hour later)
"Zzzzz"
